Even though I'm not really mechanically-minded I've always liked classic cars.  Even as a kid I liked old cars.  What was new and modern then is old now but there is a nostalgia about cars from your childhood so I have a real affection for all cars up to the end of the 70s, even the humble Allegro.  Not so much interested in cars since then (except maybe the Mazda MX5).  You can keep your supercars, hypercars and top of the range motors.  I like them but I am quite happy with a bog standard classic.

Cars make great photography subjects, too and this is a niche I particularly enjoy.  As a result of some of the car photography I've done I'm starting to get requests now, too!

Obviously I do have my favourites - Top of the list is the Triumph Herald, then the E-Type Jag and finally the Rover P4.  I also love 30s style roadsters and am delighted to see Morgan still going strong.

I do have to admit - I also have a sneaking affection for American cars from the 50s, 60s and 70s, in particular Thunderbirds, Mustangs, Corvettes. Chargers ...

E-Type Jag

For someone who loves open-top motoring and adores convertibles, ironically it's the fixed head coupé version of the E-Type that I like the best.  I know the E-Type has its faults but for me it is simply the most beautiful car ever designed - such unadulterated elegance.  I know I'll never ever get to own an E-Type but thanks to Tom buying me a classic car driving experience I got to drive a few laps of a racetrack in one! (and a MkI Escort Rally Car and an Aston Martin)

Rover P4

Why the Rover P4?  Easy - Grandad had one.  A big, beautiful, black Rover P4.  It's one of earliest memories.  He used to take us on picnics up over the North Yorkshire Moors and to the coast at Saltburn and Sandsend.  I would have been very very young but I loved that old car.  Would love to own one, myself but I can't see that happening!

30s -Style Roadsters

OK, this isn't a specific car, more a type - I just love those open top roadsters from the 30s with the big wings and running boards - the MGTA, MGTC and MGTF, and a similar sunbeam - and Morgan have maintained that style.  Absolutely gorgeous and so evocative.
