Protector USB

.:Aug 2003:.

The ProtectorUSB has now been launched and is part of the Protector family. It works very much along the lines of the ProtectorMLP but as it is a USB product it is suitable for laptops. As a bonus extra security functionality has been built in -if the laptop is stolen without the USB card (which can be kept on a keyring) the thief cannot access the data.

This product is particularly useful as the laptop user is often on the road and away from the IT support team. The ProtectorUSB means that the user can get him/herself out of computer trouble while on the road.

Protector MLP and SLP launched

.:July 2003:.

The Protector MLP and SLP cards have been added to the Protector range. The SLP offers a single layer protection and will recover to a basic HDD image (similarly to the existing Protector card) but the compatibility with brand computers is far better than the older models and installation and operation is more intuitive.

The MLP is a solution for home computers and business users and offers much more manual control to the user. The basic image is protected by the manager's password (parent/IT manager) with the user enjoying 100% freedom and flexibility to do what they want. They can create many recovery points (before installing new software or games etc.) and when needed - recover their PC by themselves (using their own password).

Both of these products offer a manager and user password, which eliminates the need for close attention by the IT manager.

We have already noticed an increase in interest since the problems caused by the Blaster and Sobig virus attacks.

New Protector Products Arriving Soon

.:Feb 2003:.

We have just been advised by the manufacturer of the Protector products of some exciting developments to the product range. It is clear that they are committed to the ongoing development of this technology and are making improvements/enhancements to widen the appeal and marketing possibilities of their products.

ProtectorNet: This is already available and has been launched. We are currently testing the card and re-writing the manual for the UK market. The ProtectorNet functions in just the same way as the Protector PCI but all the ProtectorNet cards on a network can be administered from one single administration PC, making life very easy for the network manager.

Protector SLP/MLP: Due for launch in the very near future this is a further addition to the Protector PCI range. The card itself is only the size of a credit card. The same card can be used with two sorts of software:
SLP - this works in a similar way to the PCI in that it gives a single automatic recovery on every boot up
MLP - this software gives a lot more manual control giving the user up to 32 roll back points

Protector USB: This is in the final stages of testing and we already have people screaming out for it because it is designed to work with laptops.
