My main sport is badminton - I used to be a reasonable player, but after
I've had a break I find it takes longer and longer for me to start playing
to a reasonable standard - I should have kept it up, I suppose - or is
it just a sign of age?
I recently got into squash - but I have a long way to go yet. Before
I do anything, I really must see about getting a bit fitter.
My son (Tom) started TaeKwonDo recently, so shortly afterwards, I started,
too. I don't expect to be brilliant at it - but I need to get fit
and it's something we can share. We're both using the Alan Sparks schools
in the York area, and Tom seems to be picking it up a lot faster than I
am. We started in May 1998. Up to now we've got through the
first three belts - we're currently green belt blue tag (5th Kup). I've
not been able to attend for almost 6 months due to pressure of work and
find I'm falling behind. I really must get back into it
Football was always my favourite sport. I used to play goalkeeper
or centre half. I was only ever fair to average, though. Goalkeeping
was my main strength. But even so, I gave football up when I got
married and had other commitments. I could never give up Leeds United,
though - I've followed them since I was 10 years old (and that is going
back a bit - to 1969!)
